About Us

The Ontario Icelandic Horse Association (OIHA)

The OIHA was founded in 2001 by a group of Icelandic horse enthusiasts. The association is still thriving well over a decade later, and our numbers are growing!  Our goals are many: we are proud to promote these very special horses, we want to preserve their unique characteristics and good health, and of course, we enjoy the fellowship that goes along with sharing a common interest.  To know the Icelandic horse is to love this unique and people-friendly breed. You do not have to own or ride an Icelandic horse to enjoy the many social and physical benefits associated with our group.
